The LCAP has been replaced by the Learning Continuity Plan for the 2020-21 school year in response to COVID-19. The plan aims to provide stability for schools while addressing the needs of all stakeholders and includes measures such as addressing learning gaps, ensuring stakeholder engagement, and providing resources for mental health and well-being.
Local Indicators are California’s qualitative measures of school performance that complement the academic and performance data reported on the California School Dashboard. While state indicators measure outcomes such as test scores, graduation rates, and chronic absenteeism, Local Indicators evaluate areas that cannot be fully captured through statewide data alone, including educational quality, school climate, family engagement, implementation of academic standards, and equitable access to educational opportunities. Together, they provide a more complete picture of how a school supports student success and fulfills the priorities established under California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF).

The Madera-Mariposa SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) oversees and supports the delivery of special education services across participating school districts in Madera and Mariposa counties. Its mission is to ensure that children and young adults with disabilities — from birth through age 22 — receive the individualized instruction and related services they need to thrive in educational settings. Through coordinated planning, compliance monitoring, and collaborative partnerships, the SELPA provides access to a full continuum of supports, including specialized academic programs, therapeutic services, behavioral interventions, mental health resources, and parent engagement opportunities. The SELPA also offers training and guidance for educators and families to promote inclusive practices and ensure that each student receives a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment.
