Monica Patel

I was born and raised in Madera and remain deeply committed to this community. I earned my degree in Criminal Justice and spent several years counseling teens in foster care, an experience that shaped my understanding of resilience, accountability, and the importance of stable support systems for young people. After starting a family, I shifted my career focus and joined my husband in business ownership. Together, we operate several local businesses, including Cold Stone Creamery, Evolution Strength & Conditioning Center, and a motel we have managed for the past 14 years. Through entrepreneurship, I have gained experience in leadership, operations, financial responsibility, and community engagement. I am an active member of Lions International and previously served two years on its board. Community involvement is important to me, and I regularly participate in local events and service initiatives. As a mother of two children in the district, I understand firsthand the importance of safe, inclusive, and high-achieving schools where every student feels valued and supported. I believe strong schools are built through collaboration among families, educators, and the broader community. I look forward to working alongside others to support and strengthen Sherman Thomas Charter School in meaningful and lasting ways.
